| Computer is slow - Am I using too many real time virus and spyware scanners?
I'm using a pretty cheap, wimpy laptop here (256 MB Ram) so I don't want unnecessary processes running if I can help it. I've got Tea-Timer (Spybot's real-time scanner) always running, but I also have AVG (free edition) running a spyware scanner at all times along with the virus scanner. Do I need them both, because Tea-Timer is taking up a lot of memory. Or will AVG alone be enough?  |

Since your only have 256 MB of Ram, most likely your programs will hung up during mulitple applications. Get rid of Spybot because I really believe that AVG runs spyware/virus scans on real time.. You should only have ONE type of this kind of program in your computer because they will interact with one another and clash. ...making the virus/spyware/trojans easier to access you computer because of the holes those conflicts created.
