I am having troubles with the Internet and my Acer Aspire Laptop using

Centrino and a Broadband modem.? I can connect fine when I turn the laptop on the connectivity usually lasts for around 1-1.5 hours then the internet just stops working.. This happens everytime, the tricky thing is that it still says it is connected? The only way to get it going again is to restart the computer...

Call your service provider and see if there is a connectivity problem on their end. If not, go to acer's website and see if there is a driver update for your lan card.

If you are using a "router" this could be simply because of the settings your "router" are set to.

If you are directly connected to the "modem", this could be a "modem" conflict, where the "modem" shuts off every so often.

It could also be your "modem" inside your laptop or "NIC card" (Network Card).

The best thing to do in your situation is to simply "Trial & Error". Such as: Try with the router, Try without the Router, Connect a second computer to the modem-- Do you get the same results?--If so, it's the modem or router. If not, its the computer itself, which is most likely the NIC card.
