Is/Will this be a problem? udev requires a kernel >= 2.6.15, not started.

I apt-get updated and upgraded today:

Setting up udev (0.097-2) ...
Installing new version of config file /etc/udev/permissions.rules ...
udev requires a kernel >= 2.6.15, not started.

I cannot upgrade my Kernel 2.6-14 (uname -as shows: 2.6.14-2-k7 #1 Wed Dec 28 19:14:46 UTC
2005 i686 GNU/Linux) due to lack of free disk space (df showed: /dev/hda1
270969 183383 73130 72% /; 71 MB free and can't be resized with qtparted; tried to
upgrade Kernel in the past, but kept getting out of disk space).

Is this going to cause problems if I don't upgrade in the future? I am not a expert Linux
user (use Debian as a workstation and backup machine), so I don't know if this is a problem
or not.
