Overclocking my CPU?

Hello, I have a Gateway 507GR
With a p4 3.00GHZ
2GB Ram
CM CPU fan
PCU of 500W
ANd a Nvidia PCX 5750 GPU

I want to overclock my CPU but idk if i can, is it possible for this proccesor? And if how would i do it? under my BIOS and how...? THANK YOU

sure you can overclock it but you gotta know what you are doing.

You can try raising the fsb, if its extreme edition, try playing around with the multipliers too. raise voltage if it gets unstable.

also... pentium 4 is not recommended to overclock because it runs super HOT even at stock settings. IF you want to overclock it, i suggest you get a top of the line heat pipe coolers or even liquid cooling.

Usually in factory made PCs the bios are locked preventing you from overclocking. There are ways to unlock them, but my opinion you can't get too much power from oc and risk overheating and melting ur CPU since it has a stock fan.

It is possible to overclock most CPUs. Go To BIOS and then there should be Power options or something similar. You should find the CPU Clock there. If not, consult the Internet or your PC's booklet and that should tell you how.
