My computer is dying help! Keyboard question?

Hi, my 2 and a half year laptop is falling apart, of course it is out of warranty.

The keyboard on my laptop will suddenly start typing out nonesense. It will act as if the keys have been all switched around, and some of the keys cease to exist.

If I flash the Bios or take out the battery of the computer, the keyboard will reset and I will be able to type normally again.

Usually right before the keyboard goes wonky, the computer will seemingly freeze up for a moment, and then the keyboard output is all wrong.

Norton (which I only have at the moment because I had to reinstall my system) said that a debugger was loaded, or a dll failed to load, or a violation occured.

I've spoken to Compaq, and they've been no help. I had this issue with this laptop before, and spoke to someone at compaq and we were able to fix it. I don't remember how though as it was a while ago. Now everyone at Compaq is telling me it's a hardware problem. Help!
Fueled by... I think you might be right. I suddenly got hit with like three or four different problems with this computer, like it was planned. This is my first laptop and my first windows box...I think I'm going back to Macs after this headache.

Compaq is a piece of sh*t. I knew exactly what computer it was before I even got to that point in the story. My parents had a Presario and had very similar problems. Except they weren't as resourceful as you. My advice is to pull the hard-drive and scrap the piece of crap to Fred Sanford on Ebay. You will get some of your money back in spite of this problem and you can use it towards the purchase of a new one. I know you are asking to fix this one, but you will NEVER get any longevity with a Compaq once you start having problems. Take it as a lifes learning lesson and move on. I know 2 1/2 years isn't much but they make their computers to break down on people and they would be no help to you even if it was in warranty.

You either have a virus in your computer or an intruder spy is messing with you. You need to format the computer. It is better if you take it to a shop and have a technician format it for you. I don't believe it is a keyboard problem because the freezing of your computer means a program is taking over your computer, and the keys will work fine once you restart your computer; at that time the virus program was stopped and it will have to take over again.

I think maybe you could give it a decent burial and buy a new one.
