Virus that says your computer may be at risk and keeps opening a virus

protecter that I didn't install.? Random popups keep opening all of the time. It keeps opening internet explorer, if something freezes, and I do ctrl alt delete, it says this has been disabled by the administrater. It keeps saying your computer may be at risk click here to scan your computer. Then it opens a virus protecter that I didn't install. I tried restoring because it started happening when I installed myst from a cd. Everything was fine, and I insalled it from a regular cd, and it started. I tried starting in safe mode, but then nothing opened, and I tried going on the internet and opening nortin antivirus but it wouldn't open. The only thing that would open is internet explorer and I couldn't get away from the page that said buy this product and it was some fire wall. What do I do? I have several movie files that I would prefer not to lose. I don't know how to save them. when but when I try do do anything it goes ultra slow and starts opening random things. PLEASE HELP I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! HELP FAST.
People are saying download whatever, but I can't I can't open anything because it is opening other things too fast and nothing is working.

don't install the protector or click it, install spybot search and destroy and it will find the malware/trojan and get rid of it.

spybot s&d is free and one of the most popular programs, let me know if it got rid of the problem
