Ajax or Comet, that is the question.?

I grew up on Ajax, spending many tiresome hours scrubbing and disenfecting, never running out of the stuff. Well fast foward 20 years and I have switched to Comet out of pure spite of the torture I had to endure as a child cleaning with Ajax! On the other hand maybe my folks had it right all along. Is Ajax better than Comet?

I will never use an alkide powder ever again! The thousands of first rseponders to the 9/11 sight are dying from pulminary failures directly attributed to the ingestion of alkide powders entering thier lungs. Ajax and Comet are the same powder with an extra kick to ensure a quick reaction. I use vinegar and NOTHING else to clean. You would be wise to do the same.

Have used both and they seem to act about the same. Bon Ami says (the makers, that is, say) less scratch and it used to have no bleach so no big odor.
But recently I found in a "natural food" coop a really effective liquid cleanser that has a mild (very mild) abrasive, works very well and smells good with citrus and similar ingredients. I am sold; it is frequently on sale. Sorry, name escapes me - a red plastic (yes, plastic, ugh!) 32 oz bottle.

Ajax. I too, spent my childhood scrubbing with Ajax, but was very exited to find it here after using some other product for a few years. It's called the dutch lady I think.
I ran right back to Ajax because it brings up memories of cleaning with grandma and scrubbing the kitchen floor with it.

Comet is better it made with bleach. There is a version without bleach as well "I think" It usually a green can" two sizes one is about 8 oz the other is 16 oz's.

Ajax never work the same for me. I thought it was rip off

I have found a 4 pack of generic comet from the markets of Smart N Final for about 4.99 for large tall cans.

For the bathtub. I prefer Kamboo spray clean it works better.

I only use Comet for the kitchen sink which gets black marks from frying pants or build up which easily come up with a few scrubs.

i grew up with comet but i buy ajax its what they sell at the 99 cent store and i like it.
